Through Chirpify, Tim McGraw’s Facebook Fans Bought Albums By Commenting

Facebook has been trying to give users options for social commerce, such as proposing a “want” feature. Chirpify took it one step further. The social commerce platform recently teamed up with country singer Tim McGraw for an interesting promotion. Facebook users who already have Chirpify accounts were able to purchase McGraw’s newest album simply by commenting, “buy.”

Chirpify’s business started mainly on Twitter, but its work with McGraw appears to be its first foray into Facebook. In November, singer Kat Graham worked with Chirpify to sell the album art for one of her CDs through Twitter, allowing users to reply to the post with, “buy.”

On Tuesday, McGraw did the same with his Facebook fans, allowing them to purchase his album, Two Lanes of Freedom, by commenting, “buy,” if they already had Chirpify accounts.

Chirpify CEO Chris Teso told AllFacebook┬áMcGraw’s album sold out in less than 24 hours, but the deal was also available on Twitter and Instagram:

Chirpify is enabling in-stream commerce/pay by comment on Facebook for select top-tier brands and musicians before a wider rollout and official launch. When Chirpify for Facebook is generally available, we will provide complete details about the robust, in-stream platform.
