This week was a big one for viral videos, with a bunch of videos nearing and passing the million-view mark. From Kanye West to LeBron James to a time traveler caught on film, and a sneak peek at TRON, watching these videos will help you end your week with a bang!
Kanye West – Runaway
If you aren’t one of the millions of people that have watched Kanye West’s new epic music video already, then you must check it out. The video, which made its debut earlier this week on MTV, BET and on websites including Vevo and YouTube, has been a “runaway” hit. The clean version, which you can watch below, has been viewed 3.2 million times on YouTube and the full-length “not clean” version has been viewed 2.5 million times. Be sure to let us know what you think about Kanye’s epic video in the comments.
Chaplins Time Traveler
This week over 2.6 million people watched a clip of what is purportedly a time traveler, chatting on a mobile phone in the background of the Charlie Chaplin film ‘The Circus’ from the 1920s. Check it out and decide for yourself – is this a time traveler? The guy in the video is pretty convincing, but I just have one question – even if a time traveler managed to make his way onto the set of a Charlie Chaplin movie, how would he have gotten cell phone reception?
NIKE BASKETBALL: LEBRON RISE
What happens when LeBron James contemplates life and asks questions about what his next move should be in a Nike ad? Well, the ad goes viral of course! Nike Basketball’s ‘LeBron Rise’ ad has gotten over 2.5 million YouTube views in 5 days. Of course, it might have something to do with a cameo appearance by Don Johnson of Miami Vice as well.
PEOPLE ARE AWSOME.
The band Hadouken has gone viral with their new music video, compiled of clips of YouTube videos of people doing awesome things. The video is fast approaching 2 million views, and has only been online for four days!
TRON: Legacy – Derezzed video
TRON fans have been waiting for the TRON movie for what feels like a lifetime. Anticipation has been building as fans keep their fingers crossed that the movie will come out in a couple of months. This week, Disney offered a sneak peek of the film, complete with a Daft Punk soundtrack. The clip has been viewed over 800,000 times so far.
Heenes Bear Scratch
Does your back itch like a son of a twitch? Here’s Richard Heene, who you may recognize as Balloon Boy’s dad, with his newest invention – the Bear Scratch. The Bear Scratch is a textured piece of wood that looks like a mini tree truck that you attach to your wall to scratch your back on, just like a bear does. But what happens if your back itches when you aren’t at home?
I can’t decide if this is a joke or not, but what is pretty clear to me from this video is that Richard Heene is probably insane. If you want to buy a Bear Scratch of your own you can purchase one from BearScratch.com. If you buy a Bear Scratch before Thanksgiving then five percent of the proceeds go to the Salvation Army.
