The Pope Sends His First Tweet [VIDEO]
The Vatican is really getting on board with social media. They’ve had a Twitter account for some time now, but today marks the very first tweet sent by the Pope himself.
The Vatican today announced a new site, News.va, which brings news of the Vatican to social media savvy folks. Along with the latest news, events and activities, this site includes a Twitter ticker, a video channel, Vatican Radio, and a suite of social media icons at the top to connect with followers on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and more.
And to make as big of a splash as possible into the digital world, Pope Benedictus XVI himself sent out the inaugural tweet about the site from the Vatican’s news Twitter account (@news_va_en):
