The Economist Adds Writers' Initials to Blogs

Writers for The Economist still don’t publish their bylines, but their initials are now being added to blog posts, executive editor Daniel Franklin told Beet.TV executive producer Andy Plesser in an interview at The Economist headquarters in London.

Franklin said not including bylines in articles gives the publication’s writers better access, but with blogs, “It’s a bit of a compromise: giving room for the personal nature of blogs while preserving The Economist as the prime persona.”
