Fans of both soccer and reflex-driven games have a new option to check out on iOS, as Tiny Goalie is now available to download for free. The survival game places players in the shoes of a soccer goalie, and asks them to block oncoming shots for as long as they can to earn points.

KZ8JqJh81pwrEzql4_ZzWrU-_kdUVbtKQ42iXOXgg8sIn each game of Tiny Goalie, players hold and slide their finger left and right on the screen to move their goalie in front of the net. Soccer balls fly from the bottom of the screen, and must be blocked to earn points. Other projectiles can also appear at random, and must be avoided.

The longer players last, the faster the balls fly, and the higher their points multiplier climbs. The game ends when a ball actually makes its way into the net. The title’s Game Center integration allows players to compare their high scores against others around the world, or against their friends.

Tiny Goalie was released earlier this month, and has found fast success on the App Store. According to the developer, game traffic and high scores have rocketed over the past few days, even without a large marketing budget. The game is particularly popular in Italy, where it has reached the No. 1 spot on the Sports Games chart.
