Steve Hatch, CEO of WPP Group-owned media agency MEC, joined Facebook as regional director for the U.K. and Ireland, filling a post that had been vacant for more than one year, MarketingWeek reported.

Hatch will report to Nicola Mendelsohn, vice president for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and he will lead a staff of more than 100.
Stephen Haines had been leading U.K. operations for Facebook until June, when he was relocated to New York to assume the role of global lead for the social network’s relationship with Omnicom, according to MarketingWeek.
EMEA Regional Director James Quarles had been leading client and agency relationships in the U.K.
