The U.S.S. Enterprise has landed on the second screen. Today, Paramount has released an app for iOS and Android that’s based on J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film, “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
The game has sends earth-bound fans on missions to hunt for Star Trek images in the real world and to discover hidden sounds within the movie trailers and commercials using geolocation technology and their camera phones.
As they work their way through the Star Trek Academy, players can unlock points and earn access to exclusive videos, images and wallpapers.
The app was created with technology from the mobile company Qualcomm, Incorporated.
