Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ has become one of the most-covered and parodied songs on YouTube, and over the weekend the Belgian-born Australian musician, Wouter "Wally" De Backer, uploaded an epic mashup of the fan-made homages to the song.

Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ has become one of the most-covered and parodied songs on YouTube, and over the weekend the Belgian-born Australian musician, Wouter “Wally” De Backer, uploaded an epic mashup of the fan-made homages to the song.

The mashup, ‘Gotye – Somebodies: A YouTube Orchestra,’ went up on the Gotye music YouTube channel yesterday and was directly inspired by Kutiman’s Thru-You project.  Israeli musician Kutiman is known for mashing up unrelated YouTube videos to create amazing mixes and his inspiration is definitely evident in the Gotye piece, which mashes up videos of YouTubers playing the hit on everything from ukulele to electric guitar, drums, a cappella and even soda bottles.
