Instagram Dwarfs Facebook, Twitter For Brand Engagement [STUDY]

Instagram has about 150 million monthly active users (MAUs), approximately an eighth that of owner Facebook and some way short of Twitter, but a new study has suggested that for brands looking to generate engagement from users, Instagram could well be the way to go.

By looking at the number of engagements generated from posts made on each of the top social networks, and dividing that by the accounts number of followers, L2 Think Tank calculated that Instagram generated, on average, an engagement rate 15 times that of Facebook and close to forty times that of Twitter.

For its sins, Twitter was even trounced by (he who shall not be named) Google+.
