Altimeter Group announced this morning that author and thought-leader Brian Solis will be joining them as principal analyst.
Solis is founder and president of FutureWorks, an award-winning digital and social media that fuses “best of breed” social media, new media, digital influence and conversational marketing.
As a research-based advisory firm that helps companies and industries leverage disruption to their advantage. Solis is a perfect fit for the team at Altimeter Group. “Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of calling Charlene Li and Jeremiah Owyang friends, mentors, and also neighbors. I’ve learned so much from them that over time, it was simply a natural progression to move toward an official relationship.”
Owyang posted his thoughts on the announcement,”Aside from being a long term friend, I’ve come to respect Brian for his immense raw energy and ability to communicate to thousands, if not millions of people using a variety of tools in new media, and his collection of books that I see on my client’s bookshelves on a regular basis. The man has amazing raw talent, there are few others that can do what he can.”
At first, Solis focus at Altimeter will be new media strategies and models to design frameworks, creating bridges between companies and customers, employees, and other important stakeholders while expanding this work into areas of change management.
In the past few months, Solis has concentrated on two places where he continues to gravitate towards more often than less and that is “defining business strategy and bridging the gaps between strategy and execution.”
“As such, I’ve been focusing a considerable amount of my time on helping business leaders define a new era of relevance. As I am doing with my next book, I am expanding my focus from social media and social business to document and contribute to the evolution of an adaptive business,” said Solis.
