Animal Rights More Important To Twitter Users Than Disaster Relief, Environment [INFOGRAPHIC]

Animal rights issues are more important to users on Twitter and Facebook than environmental concerns, disaster relief and other nonprofit issues, says a report.

The study, by Craigslist founder Craig Newmark, has been published in infographic form on his Craigconnects website and follows up his report in October which analysed how the top nonprofits used social media.

Craigconnects looked the impact made on Twitter and Facebook by eight different causes – animals, children, cultural, disaster relief, environment, health, military/vets and women – and animals dominated all categories, including average tweets per week, average Facebook posts per week, average weekly Twitter mentions and the average number of times the nonprofits themselves were engaging with interested users.
