One in Four 18-34 Year-Olds Check Social Media as Soon as They Wake Up

How do you like your social media in the morning?

If you’re anything like one quarter of 18-34 year-olds, it’s first thing, just as soon as you wake up.

Lightspeed GMI surveyed internet users in the United Kingdom on which part of the day they first check their social media profiles and found that 26.9 percent of 18-24 year-olds check social immediately upon waking, with 23.2 percent of 25-34 year-olds also checking at that time.

After getting up but before getting dressed was also a popular checking time for millennials.

Older users were less likely to check social media every day or even be using it at all. When they did check, users aged 45 or older preferred to log on after breakfast but before lunch.
