The 8 Biggest Problems Facing Social Media Marketers

More than four in 10 marketing professionals cite lack of in-house resources and skills as the biggest obstacle to achieving social media marketing success, reveals a new study.

Ascend2 polled marketers worldwide and found that 43 percent said that they simply did not have the right caliber of skilled employees to deliver on their social media campaigns.

A similar amount (42 percent) said that the inability to measure social media return on investment (ROI) was also a problem.

Lack of an effective strategy (39 percent), lack of compelling content (34 percent), lack of integration across marketing (31 percent), inadequate budget (28 percent), lack of consensus on importance (23 percent) and inability to become mobile-aware (6 percent) were also mentioned by respondents.
