Twitter Users More Loyal to Brands Than Facebook Users

Have you ever followed a brand on Twitter or Liked their Page on Facebook?

It’s become an extremely common practice, especially on Facebook, where 45 percent of us have visited a brand’s Facebook Page and four in ten have clicked the “Like” button.

On Twitter, slightly less than one quarter have visit a brand’s Twitter profile, and about the same number of people have clicked “Follow”.

But that’s where the comparison ends, as it turns out that Twitter users are significantly more likely to stay connected to brands when they follow them.

Just 13 percent of respondents to the GlobalWebIndex Brand report say that they have unfollowed a brand on Twitter, compared to 30 percent who have un-Liked a brand Page on Facebook.

That last figure climbs to 38 percent amongst the key 16-24 demographic.
