Now, a new analysis has identified the single most popular tweet sent out during the Oscars, and not only was it from a non-celebrity account, but it was about a film that didn’t even win a single award.
ExactTarget tracked almost two million tweets about the awards show, and identified the Harry Potter Professor Snape parody account @_snape_ as the sender of the most popular tweet during the Oscars. While Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 failed to win any of the three awards for which it was nominated, Professor Snape’s remark that “Harry Potter inspired an entire generation. But apparently that isn’t good enough for the #Oscars.” triggered an impressive 6,346 retweets.

Overall, the Professor Snape parody account received 10,544 retweets from the posts he made during the night, good enough for second place behind @theacademy, the official Academy Awards Twitter profile.
