Smashwords Publishes Its 40 Thousandth eBook
Yesterday marked an important day for Smashwords; it was the day that the indie self publisher hit 1.7 billion words in its catalog and announced its forty thousandth title (Tales of the Black Freighter).
This milestone comes after a marathon of recent uploads. In the last month over 5,000 new eBooks were listed on Smashwords, and over 12 thousand since the beginning of the year.
Just to put that in scale, Smashwords added 22,500 titles in the whole of 2010,and only 6 thousand in 2009.
