“An unexpected problem has been discovered in the version of Rhythm Thief that was available yesterday on the Apple App Store, so we have removed it temporarily from the store as we work on a fix. Our development team is hard at work to update the game and it will be back online very soon. Anyone who has purchased the game already will be able to play it as soon as it is back. We will keep you updated and we thank you in advance for your continued patience.”[Original Story]: Sega has announced the release of Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper on iOS, introducing players to Raphael and his faithful companion Fondue. The pair is on a quest to investigate the disappearance of Raphael’s father, and players will tap their way through the game to gather clues and defeat enemies.
The rhythm game is a followup to the Nintendo 3DS title Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure. The game’s soundtrack offers over 20 original songs with three variations, spread out across 50 different missions. The game supports limited-time missions and special “EX Missions” which are completed to unlock new rhythm games as well as “Super Hard Missions” that can be tried later.
At the end of each stage, players are given a score and earn experience points based on their performance. Daily challenges should incentivize players to come back each day, in addition to the draw of collecting over 100 accomplices throughout the game. Finally, a social mechanic allows players to “borrow” their friends to complete the game’s most difficult missions.
“Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper fits well with our ongoing mission to bring diverse, high quality titles to the mobile games space,” said Sega Vice President of Digital Business Chris Olson. “Now available via the iOS platforms, both fans and new comers to the series can enjoy this charming adventure.”
Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper is now available to download for $9.99 on iPhone and iPad devices. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
