Samurai Siege exceeds 5.5 million downloads, $12 million in revenue

London-based mobile developer Space Ape Games has experienced quite the success story with its multiplayer real-time strategy game Samurai Siege. Since its launch last fall, the game has been downloaded over 5.5 million times and has generated $12 million in revenue for the developer.

At first glance, Samurai Siege may appear to be a Clash of Clans clone, but that didn’t stop players from latching onto the experience in a big way. Within its first two weeks on the market, the game had been downloaded over 950,000 times, and was pulling in $65,000 per day.

Now at the six-month mark, Samurai Siege has ranked as the top grossing strategy game in 40 countries, and has ranked in the top five in top grossing apps across 136 countries.
