Sales Taxes Won't be Driving Amazon from Tennessee

Amazon has just announced that it will be hiring hundreds of new employees for its 2 new fulfillment centers in Bradley and Hamilton Counties, Tennessee. These centers, due to open in Fall 2011, are part of the latest wave of expansion for Amazon and will bring 2,700 full-time jobs and up to 4,000 part-time jobs to Tennessee.

This is a marked change from only a few weeks ago. Amazon had threatened to abandon its expansion plans in Tennessee because a couple state legislators were trying to get laws changed to force Amazon to collect sales tax.
