Rounds, the Facebook “communitainment” platform that lets users video chat, play games, watch videos, listen to music, look at pictures, take snapshots and engage in other activities together with friends (old and new) announced Wednesday that they will be launching nine new activities.
According to a press release, the new activities, which will be rolled out on the Facebook app by 2012, were made possible by a $3 million investment that Rounds secured from Verizon Investments earlier this month.
Dany Fishel, Rounds DEO and co-founder, says, “We are continuing to build out our platform and add more and more unique experiences for our users. Rounds users can expect to get hooked to these new activities like they have with our activities and games already on the site—and probably more so. As rounds continues to grow, the offerings are only going to get better and more addicting than they already are. We’re very excited about these nine new additions and can’t wait to get going on our next projects.”
The new activities are as follows:
Bubblins – A 1-player or multi-player matching game in which you must match Bubblins (sort of like bubbles with eyes) to decrease your opponent’s life and increase your own
Charades – An online version of the classic game, Charades lets you act out a phrase or word on camera and your opponent must guess what you are acting out
Faces iMake – Invites you to get creative and make faces out of everyday objects
Gluey – Earn points by combining similarly-colored blobs and try to beat your opponent’s score
Mad Pet – Race a skateboarding dog, do tricks and avoid holes while trying to get a higher score than your opponent
Space Purge – Destroy asteroids and rogue satellites to save Planet Earth
Super Drift 3D – A 3D speed-racing game that lets you pick your favorite car and challenge your friends
Whack-a-Friend – Whack a friend before they whack you
Wonder Putt – An online mini-golf game featuring ski slopes, alien abductions, torpedoes and more
Are you a Rounds user? What features do you currently use most and which of these new games are you most excited about?
