Kal Raman, who joined Groupon in April as senior vice president of global sales and operations, has been promoted to chief operating officer. The company didn't previously have a COO position.
Kal Raman, who joined Groupon in April as senior vice president of global sales and operations, has been promoted to chief operating officer.
The company hasn’t had a COO since September of last year, when Margo Georgiadis left the company on the eve of its IPO to rejoin Google.
“In a very short time, Kal has had a significant impact on increasing the number and quality of local businesses using the Groupon platform,” said CEO Andrew Mason.
Raman joined Groupon from eBay.
