Facebook Tests Tools to Help Users Cope With Breakups

Breaking up is hard to do, but Facebook is testing ways to make it a little easier, at least in terms of dealing with how it affects users’ experiences on the social network.

Breaking up is hard to do, but Facebook is testing ways to make it a little easier, at least in terms of dealing with how it affects users’ experiences on the social network.

Facebook is currently testing tools, starting out with mobile users in the U.S., that give users far greater control over how much of their content can be seen by their exes, and vice versa, following a change in relationship status.

The move is a result of the same type of user feedback that led the social network to introduce more comprehensive controls for its On This Day feature last month, enabling users to block out specific users, dates or date ranges, and preventing related content from showing up in their On This Day feeds.
