RedPlum Social Savings allows brands to distribute coupons and offers to Facebook users without requiring them to leave the social network’s environment, combining Valassis’ digital-coupon-distribution technologies with Facebook’s share button and open graph actions.
The app also allows users to seamlessly navigate between brands’ Facebook pages and offer pages within the app, and brands’ page administrators can:
- Provide easy downloads of the app via their Facebook pages or direct URL links.
- Access real-time usage data via Facebook Insights.
- Integrate the app with the social network’s sharing features and open graph.
Valassis cited grocery retailer Food Lion as an early adopter of RedPlum Social Savings, and the company added that since its beta launch, the app has been installed by more than 25,000 Facebook users, resulting in more than 450,000 impressions. Chief Digital Officer Jim Parkinson added:
