Ravens Lose To Broncos, But Come Out On Top On Twitter

NFL season is back, which means lots of buzz on Twitter.

During Thursday night’s kickoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Denver Broncos, the latter may have won the game – but they lost in terms of Twitter mentions.

While the Ravens received more than 29,000 team mentions on Twitter, the Broncos clocked in at 24,000.

Notable stats released by Twitter:

– There were 1.4 million total tweets sent about the game

– Tweets per minute spiked to more than 15,000 during Peyton Manning’s 5th touchdown pass

– The top tweeted-about players of the game were: Peyton Manning, Wes Welker, and Ray Rice

The interactive graph below displays the flow of conversation surrounding both teams, in addition to Peyton Manning, who completed 7 touchdown passes and earned the most-tweeted-about-player accolade for the night.
