January seems to be the month of Hello Kitty, with Namco Bandai games releasing Hello Kitty Tap and Run, and Bergsala Lightweight and Scarab Entertainment launching Hello Kitty Kruisers. Available on iOS and Android, Hello Kitty Kruisers sees players taking the wheel of cars, boats and planes as one of 10 popular Sanrio characters, including Hello Kitty herself.
Hello Kitty Kruisers offers Keroppi, Badtz-Maru, Cinnamoroll, My Moly, Purin, Chococat and more as playable characters, with two racing tours available in the base game for $1.99. Two additional tours are available via in-app purchase, and contain four tracks each.
Players have access to two sets of cars, boats and planes to start, but again, can purchase additional vehicles via in-app purchase. The game sees players completing Time Trial events, as well as other races including Cupcake Hunts, a Rainbow Gates challenge and Apple Runs.
In expected kart-racer fashion, players have access to power-ups as they play, like shields, clocks for slowing down opponents, speed boosts and cream pie missiles, among others. Players can control their vehicles via virtual on-screen controls or tilt-controls.
