QuizUp social trivia game comes to iPad, passes 10 million users

After an impressive launch on iPhone, Plain Vanilla Games has released its social trivia platform QuizUp on iPad devices. The game now features over 360 trivia topics, ranging from professional wrestling to individual musicians, movies, science and much more. These topics offer a total of 190,000 questions, with this iPad launch helping Plain Vanilla plan for the future of the entire platform. As of this writing, QuizUp sits at No. 28 on the top free app chart for iPhone apps. The game has reached more than 10 million users since its launch in November. In each round, two players compete to answer questions correctly as quickly as they can to earn points. “QuizUp is quickly becoming more of a social trivia network rather than just a game,” says Thor Fridriksson, founder and CEO of Plain Vanilla Games. “Reaching the milestone of 10 million users in just three months following our launch has shown that while people are really enjoying the gameplay, it’s the experience and community that keeps them coming back.” The game’s iPad release offers a redesigned user interface, making it easier for users to find the topics they’d like to play, or even discover new topics they may have never seen before. The game’s leaderboards have also received an update, placing more emphasis on “social relationships” as the developer continues its goal of making the app more than just a game. “QuizUp on the iPad is such a delightful experience,” adds Fridriksson. “The newest QuizUp update allowed us to focus our attention to reiterating the app in a way that not only enhances the experience, but one that helps us build towards the future -- especially when it comes to discovery. This update is the beginning of creating a more personalized QuizUp experience.” QuizUp is now available to download for free on iPad.
