For the third consecutive year, direct marketing company Publishers Clearing House will hold its “The Give Back” charity initiative, which allows Facebook users who like the PCH page to vote once per day for their favorite of three selected charities.
Voting started Monday and runs through Nov. 25, and the first-place charity at the end of the campaign will receive $50,000, while the runner-up will get $35,000, and $25,000 will go to the charity that finishes third.
In addition, all Facebook users who participate in The Give Back will be eligible to win one of three $5,000 prizes.
The three charities that are part of the third annual The Give Back initiative are:
- St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Its mission is to advance cures and means of prevention for children battling cancer and other pediatric catastrophic diseases.
- United Service Organizations: The USO provides programs, services, and live entertainment to U.S. troops and their families.
- American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals: The ASPCA works to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals via anti-cruelty, community outreach, and animal health services.
PCH Executive Vice President Deborah Holland said in a release announcing the launch of this year’s campaign:
Our founders established a heritage of charitable giving that continues 60 years after the company was established. Nearly one-half of our profits go to charities each year. The Give Back is a perfect way for us to extend that legacy, to engage our community, and to raise awareness for three important causes. Our customers and entrants enjoy interacting with the PCH brand on Facebook, and this program gives our community the ability to make an impactful decision in an entertaining way.
