A 22-year old Pittsburgh man has taken a hostage in a high-rise building and is using Facebook to explain why. UPDATE: AP reports that the suspect has surrendered to police.
Klein Michael Thaxton has taken one man hostage, all the while posting chilling messages to his Facebook wall. At the time of this post, his Facebook profile appears to have been shut down. However, numerous news outlets shared Thaxton’s last thoughts on the social network before his wall went dark.
He was able to post numerous messages in the three hours or so after he stormed the office on the 16th floor of Three Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh at 8 a.m. ET.
According to AP, he is currently negotiating with SWAT officers at the scene.
Thaxton has been posting emotional, misspelled tirades on Facebook during the alleged hostage situation, The Huffington Post reported in its live-blogging of events.
“I cant take it no more im done bro,” he wrote at about 9 a.m. “How this ends is up to yall bro real shyt.”
At about 11:18 a.m., he reportedly wrote, “Stop postn silly shyt bruh i aint laughin rite now nigga!”
At this point, friends and relatives start to weigh in on Thaxton’s Facebook wall.
“Boogie we love you,” wrote Raven Thaxton on his Facebook wall. “Watevers goin on you can get through this .. i love you cuzzo stay strong.”
CNN is reporting that his mother is now on the scene and trying to talk his son out.
Just as compelling as Thaxton’s Facebook posts are the comments made by his friends, some of which are listed below.
