Pinterest Acquires Recommendations App Livestar
Pinterest has acquired the mobile app Livestar, a mobile app that provides users with recommendations for local venues from their social contacts and others.
Pinterest has acquired the mobile app Livestar, a mobile app that provides users with recommendations for local venues from their social contacts and others.
Livestar launched in June of last year.
The move is focused on acquiring Livestar’s engineering talent. Three members of Livestar’s four-member engineering team will join the San Francisco company. Livestar founder and CEO Fritz Lanman, a Pinterest angel investor, will not be hired but will continue in an advisory role at the company.
“We think the Livestar team is a natural fit for Pinterest because of their commitment to inspiring people to do things in their everyday lives through social and expert recommendations,” a Pinterest spokesperson said.
