We told you about Pepsi’s “Live for Now” campaign last month and how the soft drink giant has partnered with Twitter to offer pop-up concerts in the U.S. this summer and fall featuring major music artists.
Well, today they kicked the campaign into high gear by giving us what we love most – free stuff!
But that’s not all . . .
Twitter’s Advertising Blog tells us that starting today and continuing every week, the @pepsi account will tweet free music download codes to followers so “they can discover more music through Amazon.com’s MP3 Store.”
Adding to their #Now and #LiveForNow hashtags, #PepsiMusicNow is bound to be popular with fans. Though we wonder just how many hashtags it takes before they become less effective and overload sets in. Based on this Pepsi Pulse graphic (Pepsi Pulse is the “digital embodiment of “Live for Now” according to the press release), it appears there are potentially many more #Now hashtags headed our way:
And Pepsi’s Twitter page also launched its first “bite-sized snapshot of top music and artists based on what is trending on Twitter” today. It’s supposed to be the first time any partner will use Twitter’s real-time data to develop original programming, so that’s interesting in itself.
