PBS Launches Video Web Portal

PBS launched a Web portal today that will include thousands of hours of PBS programs. The video site features full-length shows including Frontline, NOW on PBS and Antiques Roadshow.

As this is Earth Day, the site includes environmentally focused programs including full episodes of Nova, Plant Forward and Nature.

Mindful that putting programming online can be the bain of local stations, PBS.org is reaching out to PBS stations across the country telling them they will have easy access to programming for their own sites as well as the ability to share locally produced content with the national audiences on PBS.org.

“Our goal is to ensure that audiences have online access to the remarkable depth and breadth of PBS programming – in a format that puts the user in control,” says Jason Seiken, PBS’ SVP of Interactive.
