Oregon WR Booted Over Facebook Status Updates

Yet another athlete cost himself a roster spot due to careless use of social media. This time, it was wide receiver Jamere Holland, who was dismissed from the University of Oregon Ducks football team for two inflammatory posts on Facebook, ESPN.com reported.

Oregon linebacker Kristian Kiko Alonso was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to ESPN.com, and, under the mistaken impression that Alonso had been kicked off the team (no action has been taken against Alonso as of yet), Holland posted two expletive-laden, racially tinged status updates on his Facebook page, which was still set to public as of Monday morning, meaning anyone could read it.
