Facebook users: Online restaurant-reservation provider OpenTable wants to know where you’ve been eating, and new Facebook application Places I’ve Eaten is aimed at helping it find out.

OpenTable said Places I’ve Eaten allows Facebook users to share their dining histories, favorite restaurants, and wish lists with their Facebook friends, as well as to compare ratings and recommendations, tag friends who have shared dining experiences with them, and, naturally, make reservations, the company’s bread and butter.

Places I’ve Eaten users can also opt to keep their dining histories private, or limit which friends can view them.

OpenTable Vice President of Consumer Marketing Scott Jampol said:

Places I’ve Eaten makes it easy for diners to share and be inspired by memorable dining experiences and to tap into their friends’ knowledge of local dining scenes.
