Viral Radar: Online Checkout In Real Life

By Megan O'Neill

Online shopping is supposed to be easy, but how many times have you filled up your virtual cart and headed to the virtual checkout only to run into problem after problem.  First you can’t remember your username and password, then you’re faced with a bajillion decisions, from whether you want to agree to their terms of service to what kind of delivery you’d like and more.  A new video promo for Google Analytics shows us what the online checkout would look like in real life.

The video is meant to illustrate that sometimes the checkout process can get so annoying that customers just wind up “checking out” of their purchases all together.  Google Analytics can help you find out where in the process of browsing your website your customers are checking out so that you can work to make your website more user-friendly and keep them around as long as possible.

‘Online Checkout – In Real Life’ hit YouTube earlier this month and has gone viral over the past week or so, raking in over 112,000 views so far.  Check out the video below and let us know what you think.  Does this remind you of any experiences you’ve had with online shopping?
