Mashable uncovered the new ad test when writer Christina Warren came across a featured partner post for Hidden Valley Ranch on BuzzFeed, which contained a Facebook share button.

The share button creates a post featuring the campaign by the user, and the user’s friends can comment on it, but the post does not contain a reshare button, so users’ friends who wish to repost it must go back to the original source, Mashable reported — in this case, BuzzFeed.

BuzzFeed referred Mashable’s inquiry to Facebook, and the social network confirmed that it is testing a feature that allows offsite ads to be shared.
