Twitter is hosting a “platform event” early next month and, as usual, space is limited – and attendance is restricted.
So for those of you who click first and read event details later (like me), please note that before you click “submit” on that form, you’ll want to read the important restriction – unless you want to look foolish (again, like me).
If you’ve ever attempted to sign up for an event being held at Twitter HQ, you’d know that they fill up quick. And maybe that would lead you to sign up as fast as possible without reading the full event description, just to secure your spot – because why WOULDN’T you want to attend whatever it is, you blogging Twitter fiend?
Here’s a reason: Because you’re not invited, press.
Please join us for a special, mobile-oriented platform event at Twitter headquarters on April 2nd, from 6:30pm to 9pm. We’ve been working on some exciting new features for the Twitter Platform, and we’d like to share those with you.
To attend, please register so we can be sure to get enough food and beverages for our guests. Thanks in advance, and we look forward to seeing you here.
This event is closed to press. [Bold ours.]
Too bad it wasn’t being held on April 1st, because then we could all still show up and say it was an elaborate April Fool’s joke. Or something. Dick Costolo is a former improv guy, I’m sure he’d find that HILARIOUS, right?
Anyway. If you attend, please reach out and let us know how it goes!
