No Augmented Reality Apps for Windows Phone 7 For Now

One of the biggest attention drawing app categories in 2010 has been Augmented Reality (AR). The best known app is probably Layars available for Android and iPhone. AR apps provide a heads-up camera view of the world overlaid by computer generated information such as text about objects being viewed on the screen. But, it appears that Windows Phone 7 users will have to make do without augmented views of their world.

Sorry, Windows Phone 7 app makers: the camera’s off-limits

Developers, including Layar, reported that they are unable to access the Windows Phone 7 camera control.
