Nicola Mendelsohn Joins Facebook As VP, EMEA Region, Succeeding Joanna Shields

Facebook finally named its replacement for former Vice President and Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa Joanna Shields, who left the social network last October: Karmarama Executive Chairman Nicola Mendelsohn is on board as VP for the EMEA region.

Facebook finally named its replacement for former Vice President and Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa Joanna Shields, who left the social network last October: Karmarama Executive Chairman Nicola Mendelsohn is on board as VP for the EMEA region.

Shields left Facebook to become CEO of Tech City Investment Organisation, a venture sponsored by the U.K. government and aimed at helping London’s East End create its version of Silicon Valley.

It was reported in December that Facebook Vice President of Global Marketing Solutions Carolyn Everson would spend six months in London in an effort to hire a replacement for Shields, and that task has been completed with the hire of Mendelsohn, whom Campaign reported will start at the social network in July.
