NewsWhipAppiPhone650Social media news aggregator NewsWhip released a new application for iOS and Android that brings users news stories from thousands of global sources that are the most shared on Facebook and Twitter.

The app’s home screen displays the top stories worldwide, but users can narrow their focus to 10 different regions or countries, as well as some 50 topics.

NewsWhip said the app updates in real-time, and users can customize and personalize their feeds via the “My Whips” section. Stories can also be shared directly to users’ Facebook and Twitter accounts via the app.

Chief Technology Officer Andrew Mullaney said in an email to AllFacebook:

NewsWhip’s stories can come from anywhere — all they have in common is that thousands of people decided they were worth sharing.
