New York City Launches Second Annual #LoveNYC Instagram, Facebook Contest

The City of New York launched its second annual #LoveNYC Instagram and Twitter photo contest, this time expanding its reach to Facebook since the social network started using hashtags. Residents can upload their photos showcasing their favorite aspects of the city’s five boroughs under the hashtag #LoveNYC for a chance to serve as an “Instagram Ambassador” for the city’s official Instagram account. The city will pick the top four photos from each borough to display in a digital exhibit at the New York Public Library in late September.

Last year’s contest garnered 2,000 submissions, but the city expects more this time by including Facebook users and leading the campaign with Instagram.
