New iPhone Confirmed to Have 19-Pin Dock Connector
This blog has repeated posted on the not-yet-released iPhone 5. I’ve show you leaked photos, a schematic sheet, and even a video of the purported shell of the new device.
In all that time one of the details that has been consistent throughout the leaks was the dock connector. All indications showed it as being smaller than the existing connector, but it wasn’t until today that I knew exactly how much smaller.
TechCrunch is reporting today that the new iPhone’s dock connector will have 19 pins, making it a major change from the current 30-pin connector, which has been in use since the 3rd gen iPod.
