Netflix Now Creating Original Programming - Could Amazon Be Next?

Netflix outbid several major studios this week when it bought the rights to the new series from David Fincher & Kevin Spacey, House Of Cards. It’s rumored that Netflix has committed to 26 episodes with an estimated cost of over $100 million USD.

This is the biggest gamble that Netflix has taken in its 14 year history, and is also a surprise turnaround. Netflix had tried to create original programming before, but eventually threw in the towel and closed its development department.
