NBC Universal returns as the official broadcast partner of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This year, NBC plans to focus on the “multi-platform content opportunities” for the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games which will be broadcast on the networks of NBC in February. NBC talent including Al Roker and Maria Bartiromo will be on hand, as will Chris Hansen, who may or may not be looking to catch a predator while in Las Vegas. CNBC’s “Closing Bell” and “Wall Street Journal Report” will originate from the NBC production space on the floor of the CES.

Hours of Live NBC Universal Programming From “TODAY,” CNBC, NBC News, MSNBC and Others To Originate Programming From CES
NEW YORK – December 21, 2009 – NBC Universal, the official broadcast partner of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), today announced its plans for the world’s largest consumer technology trade show in Las Vegas from January 7 – 10. NBC Universal will be showcasing the many ways consumers can shape and maximize their entertainment experiences in the digital age by making content easily accessible on a multitude of platforms and devices, with a special focus on the multi-platform content opportunities for the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games. In addition, NBC Universal will be creating live programming from its enhanced booth (Central Hall #9836), with NBC Universal talent such as Al Roker, Maria Bartiromo and Chris Hansen. Additionally, CNBC’s “Closing Bell” and “Wall Street Journal Report” will originate special programs from CES.
NBC Universal will also be showcasing lessons learned about consumer behavior around the Beijing Olympic content and how those learnings shaped the strategy for the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games. On hand to present the findings will be Alan Wurtzel, President, NBC Universal Research and Mike Pilot, President, NBC Universal Ad Sales.
Returning for a third year, The Sharp/NBC Universal Multimedia Lounge will again host top bloggers from the NBCU family reporting in real-time and posting their comments to http://www.NBCUatCES.com, the site devoted to all of NBC Universal’s activities at CES. This destination site will be a touch-point for information about NBCU’s CES programming and announcements and will capture the action from the show. The Sharp/NBC Universal Multimedia Lounge will also host top business and entertainment industry bloggers and podcasters, some of whom will be contributing to www.NBCUatCES.com in addition to their own blogs. Fans of CES can receive updates via NBCU’s Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/nbcuces).
Visitors to the NBCU booth will also be able to test a new online application that NBC has developed for NBCOlympics.com during the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games that lets fans score figure skating routines at home and compare their results to those of the actual judges. The game will be made available online to viewers once the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games begin on February 12, 2010.
NBCU’s Peacock Productions will also be working with the Consumer Electronics Association to provide daily feeds of all of the new products unveiled and any breaking news throughout the show to broadcast stations around the country.
