MySpace Outsourcing International Operations

MySpace will outsource operations at its sites in Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Italy, Poland, Mexico and Turkey to News Corp. sister company Fox International Channels following massive layoffs of its international staff last month, the two companies announced.

FIC will manage local advertising, marketing and promotion, with MySpace contributing the existing sites and the branding. MySpace did not comment on how the partnership will work financially.

“The new partnership with FIC allows MySpace to reduce operational costs and better leverage our local knowledge and relationships,” MySpace CEO Owen Van Natta said in a release.
