MTV Video Music Awards Boost Twitter, MTV.com

Video blogger iJustine used a Twitter Visualization tool on-air during MTV’s telecast of the Video Music Awards preshow Sunday night, and the cable network, social-media-monitoring firm Radian6 and design agency Stamen said they tracked more than 1.3 million VMA-related tweets through the end of the event and more than 2 million as of midday Monday.

Fans can use the VMA Tweet Tracker to browse through the entire night and see trends and even individual tweets.

Twitter director of media partnerships Chloe Sladden said the social-networking service experienced three times the average volume of tweets during the VMAs.
