MPS Has New Study On Librarians Purchase Decisions For eBooks

As eBook and eJournal collections grow, a new study from MPS Limited, a Macmillan Company, has found that librarians are increasingly using content usage statistics and counter reports to make purchasing decisions.

In September, MPS conducted a survey of more than 300 librarians worldwide, and found that useage statistics and COUNTER-complaint usage is influencing 86% of librarians, and 97% of librarians use usage statistics for eBooks. In addition, 87% of librarians using COUNTER-compliant usage statistics for eJournals, and 66% for eBooks.
