Mobile Game Roundup: Frantic Shooter, Ketchapp Soccer and More

Are you looking for a new mobile game to try this weekend? As usual, there are lots of new options for you to try, including Dawnbringer, a hack-n-slash RPG from Kiloo and Copenhagen Creators. The game challenges players to defeat demons by swiping to attack and parry during battles. In addition, Foursaken Media released its newest game this week: Adventure Company. The action RPG allows players to create a team of heroes and take them into levels, each with a different objective to complete. If you're looking for something different to play, here's a look at some of the additional games released this week. Frantic Shooter (Free on iOS, Android) - This top-down shooter from BulkyPix and developer Pixel Ratio challenges players to survive as long as possible by dragging their fingers around their screen to move and avoid enemy fire. Characters will automatically shoot at nearby enemies, allowing users to focus on dodging. As players defeat enemies, they can collect experience points which are used to upgrade their weapons. These upgrades last until the current game ends. Users can also collect power-ups, which may temporarily help them during battle. Games end when players run out of health. Players can collect coins as they play, which can be spent on new characters. Smash Time (Free on iOS, Android, Windows Phone) - This debut title from Bica Studios challenges players to tap on aliens to smash them before they can reach the hero at the bottom of the screen. Friendly animals will also appear while playing, and gamers must avoid smashing them. Players earn up to three keys on each stage, depending on their scores. These keys are used to unlock treasure chests containing coins. Gamers can spend coins to revive their characters if an alien reaches them while playing. Users can unlock additional heroes using premium currency. Toca Life: Vacation ($2.99 on iOS, Android, Amazon) - This children's game from Toca Boca allows users to explore four locations: the airport, hotel, beach and a sightseeing location. Users can complete activities such as shopping for souvenirs and checking in at the airport, among others. The game does not include traditional levels or rules, so children have freedom to explore. Toca Life: Vacation does not include in-app purchases or third-party advertising. Blackjack 21 (Free on iOS, Android) - This blackjack game from KamaGames allows users to play blackjack at casino tables with players from around the world. Players begin with a supply of free chips, and they can purchase additional chips with real money. Users can chat with others while playing. Box Island (Free on iOS) - This educational game from Radiant Games was designed to teach children the basics of coding, including concepts such as loops and conditionals. The game includes 100 puzzle levels to complete, with the first 10 levels being available for free. Users can unlock the full game for $7.99. Bridge Construction Simulator 3D (Free on iOS) - This level-based bridge-building game from Aidem Media challenges players to build bridges by dragging their fingers around grids to construct individual road and support pieces. Gamers can add a limited number of pieces to each bridge before running out of money. Users can also remove pieces from their bridges if they make mistakes. If players need help creating stable bridges, they can use hints to unlock solutions. Players begin with a few free hints, and they can purchase additional hints via in-app purchase. Users may also be able to receive free hints by watching video ads. Tiny Chick (Free on iOS, Android) - This endless survival game from ZPlay challenges players to help their characters jump through holes in vertical barriers in the path. Players can tap and hold to aim, and let go to jump. Once the aiming trajectory line reaches its highest point, it won't go back down, so users must quickly decide when to let go before the line moves too high. Games end when the character fails to make it through the next hole in the path. Users can collect coins as they play, which can be spent on new playable characters. Striker Rush Tournament (Free on iOS, Android) - This soccer game from 1DER Entertainment combines elements from running games with soccer. During each game, users swipe to move their soccer player between lanes to avoid other players and obstacles. Once players reach the end of the field, they can swipe to take a shot at the goal. After players take their shots, they become the goalkeepers, and they must swipe to prevent the opposing team from scoring a goal. Striker Rush Tournament features three gameplay modes: Tournament, Quick Tournament and Friendly Match. Before each game, players can choose the team they'd like to become, with each team having different stats. Players can collect coins as they play, which can be spent to upgrade a team's stats. Timecrest 2: The Door (Free on iOS) - This sequel to the original Timecrest from Sneaky Crab is technically an update to the original Timecrest app. The gamebook allows users to help a young mage named Ash save the world of Alyncia. The sequel features a new map system, as well as a new Aura system that allows players to help Ash during "critical moments" in the story. Overall, the choices players make may have an impact on the rest of the story, and may also impact the ending they receive. Players who have already completed Timecrest 1: Fated Connections can start Timecrest 2: The Door by selecting "Play Timecrest 2" from the main menu, and continuing from their saved games. Creature Seekers ($2.99 on Android) - This children's game from RetroStyle Games follows two children on a quest to find talking animals in a prehistoric setting. The game allows players to interact with 11 animated animals, including tigers, birds, cave mice and more. The game also includes two mini-games that were designed for toddlers (memory cards and a puzzle game). Creature Seekers is coming soon to iOS and the Amazon Appstore. A free version of the game is also coming soon. Ketchapp Soccer (Free on iOS, Android) - This soccer game from Ketchapp and Estoty challenges players to swipe soccer balls to hit targets in a soccer net. The game offers three different gameplay modes: Free Kick, Time Challenge and Practice. Gamers can collect stars as they play, which can be spent to spin a wheel containing new balls, environments, nets and goalkeepers. In addition to these new releases, White Wizard Games released Cthulhu Realms for free on iOS. The game was previously released for free on Android.
