Android seeing 900,000 activations a day -- Consumers are now activating 900,000 Android devices a day, according to a recent tweet from Android chief Andy Rubin. Tandem raises $32 million for mobile accelerator -- Tandem Capital has raised $32 million for its mobile-exclusive accelerator. Investors included Doug Bergeron, Dan Cooperman, Ram Shriram, Dan Warmenhoven and Rick Thompson. DeNA predicts big profits, even with kompu gacha ban -- DeNA has updated its earnings estimates for its first quarter, predicting it will see earnings increase to 17.5 billion yen, up 10 percent year-over-year, despite the banning of the lucrative Kompu Gacha sales tactic, which took effect June 1. CEO Isao Moriyasu had previously said the impact on the company’s earnings would be minimal, but the true fallout will be seen in the company’s second quarter results. Zynga and CBS working on Draw Something TV show — Variety is reporting that Draw Something is getting a primetime game show, the pilot for which was picked up by CBS after a bidding war. The show's pilot will apparently have celebrities and users competing against each other in front of a studio audience; Variety's also reporting users at home will be able to to play along with the TV contestants, but it's not obvious how this mechanic will work. Apple and Samsung earn 90% of smartphone profits -- According to the latest study from ABI research, Apple and Samsung account for 90 percent of all profits generated by smartphones, and 55 percent of shipments. Skout shuts down 17 and under community -- Mobile flirting app Skout has banned minors from its service after three men were accused of using the service to meet and rape minors. The men posed as other underaged users. General Catalyst joins YC fund -- Venture capital firm General Catalyst has officially joined the Y Combinator Start Fund, reports TechCrunch. The fund, which provides seed money to every Y Combinator company, counts SV Angel, Andreessen Horowitz and Yuri Milner as members. Square has 2 million mobile clients -- Square has signed up over 2 million mobile payment customers, the company announced this week. The company is now processing more than $6 billion in payments a year. The9’s Game Zone now has 10 million users -- The9’s Chinese mobile gaming network The9 Game Zone has more than 10 million users, and has driven over 12 million downloads, reports VentureBeat. Draw Something adds Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias -- Zynga is promoting it’s hit mobile game draw something with some star power from Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias, tapping the celebrities to choose featured words in the game. The campaign is designed to help promote the release of the game in 12 new languages, including French, Japanese and Dutch. Zynga has previously worked with Iglesias for a CityVille campaign. Flurry ads Ad Analytics product -- Mobile analytics company Flurry has added a new product called Ad Analytics that allows developers to track installs and actions on mobile ad campaigns. Ad Analytics is a premium service that is billed separately to Flurry’s standard analytics offerings. Zynga rolls out Zynga Slots for iOS [Launch] — Looks like we were right about Zynga's next mobile game. The company just launched Zynga Slots on Apple's App Store, providing players with a mobile slots game experience for fans of Zynga Casino. This is the second mobile casino game from Zynga and comes with an offline mode.
