Traffic directed to mobile applications by Facebook is soaring, reaching more than 160 million visitors and 1.1 billion visits in April, up from 60 million and 320 million, respectively, in February.

The social network said in a post on its developer blog that seven of the top-10-grossing apps for Apple’s iOS and six of the top 10 for Android were integrated with Facebook.

Facebook called out three apps in particular in its blog post, citing their growth: BranchOut, Viddy, and Flixster.

  • BranchOut: Social professional network BranchOut has grown from 1 million monthly active users to more than 12.5 million monthly active users 12 weeks after releasing its Facebook-integrated mobile Web app. More than 18 million people visited BranchOut from Facebook in the past 28 days.
  • Viddy: Viddy’s iOS app gives people a simple way to capture, beautify, and share videos with their iPhone. Since integrating with Facebook and launching its open graph actions, Viddy’s community has grown to more than 16 million registered users.
  • Flixster: Popular movie review and info mobile Web app Flixster has grown the number of visitors from Facebook 10 times to more than 480,000 daily in the past four weeks. These visitors generated a total of 15 million visits in the same period.
