The Menlo Park Planning Commission unanimously approved Facebook’s proposed West Campus expansion, located across the Bayfront Expressway from the social network’s current headquarters, and now the next step is a return trip to the Menlo Park City Council in March.

KCBS reported that there were no public comments opposing the Frank Gehry-designed expansion project at the Planning Commission meeting Monday night, sharing the following positive feedback from residents:

In addition to the millions of dollars that will be generated through the east and west campuses’ development agreements, the fact that Facebook is here in Menlo Park is a huge public benefit for our community and San Mateo County.

We certainly believe that Menlo Park is now branded as Facebook’s home, and that’s priceless.

Facebook is and will be a significant social and economic influence to our community.
